Align / Distort 3D Parts > Align, Plane - Plane (3D Menu)

This command can be used to align multiple 3D parts in a way that two planes will be in the same plane.

1.Choose 3D parts

The 3D parts to be aligned must be chosen. Click on objects to choose them.

2.Identify 3D face / plane 1

Any component face or construction plane can be identified as the reference plane for the alignment by clicking onto the component face or onto the construction plane's elliptical representation's outline. This is usually an edge that is part of the chosen 3D parts.

3.Identify 3D face / plane 2

Any component face or construction plane can be identified as the target plane for the alignment by clicking onto the component face or onto the construction plane's elliptical representation's outline. This is usually an edge that not is part of the chosen 3D parts.

After choosing the 3D parts, they will be aligned so that the reference plane lies in the same plane as the target plane.

To align the components further, try one of the following commands:

3D > Move / Copy 3D Parts > Point - Point
3D > Move / Copy 3D Parts > Parallel to Plane
3D > Rotate 3D Parts > Perpendicular to Plane, Reference Points.

It is well possible to identify both planes from within the chosen components, although the result will be confusing since the target plane will be moved, too.
