3D Plane Identification (Methods) |
www.CAD6.com |
A 3D construction plane is identified by clicking onto its elliptical representation's outline. In order to minimize conflicts with the following 3D face selection (which is done by clicking somewhere inside a 3D face), the current snapping radius will be halved during the plane identification.
A component face in 3D space is identified as a plane by simply clicking onto to it. The application will automatically determine the visible plane that is topmost at the click. If no valid plane is available within the snapping radius, a note will be displayed.
Planes that are logically "hidden" by surfaces of 3D parts cannot be identified, even if they are visible due to the component being drawn in transparent edge-only mode (or due to drawing order).
If you are working with multiple 3D spaces, only components within the currently active 3D space will be used for plane identification.
