3D Construction Plane > Along Plane (3D Menu)

This command can be used to create a 3D construction plane along a 3D face.

Any component face can be identified as the direction for the 3D construction plane by clicking onto the component face. 3D construction planes cannot be identified!

The 3D construction plane will be visualized using a construction aid ellipse. If you see the plane exactly from above or below, you will see a perfect circle. While the plane itself is virtually endless, the ellipse used for displaying it has an origin and an extension defined by the way you created the plane. A 3D construction plane can only be identified by clicking onto its elliptical representation's outline. In order to minimize conflicts with a standard 3D face selection (which is done by clicking somewhere inside a 3D face), the current snapping radius will be halved during the plane identification.
