Map 3D Space to 2D > Clipped to Object Outline (3D Menu)

www.CAD6.com

This command can be used to create a mapping of a 3D space into the 2D world. This enables you to show different views of the same set of 3D parts without having to duplicate them. The mapping is unlimited in its extents, i.e. all 3D parts within a 3D space will be displayed, regardless of their position.

After choosing this command, the "Create 3D Mapping" dialog appears, where the creation parameters can be chosen.

1.Enter position

The point at which the mapping is inserted is chosen by clicking the mouse at any chosen point within the drawing.

2.Identify aerial object

Any fillable object can be identified as clipping surface.

Based on the chosen object, a clipping surface is created that contains the mapping.

The clipping surface is assigned to the current layer. The mapping will not automatically be assigned to the current layer. Instead, the command Layers > Defaults is used to decide whether it should be assigned to the current layer, or another specified layer. Both will contain a reference to the current pen.

Use the Clipping > Resolve command if you want to remove the clipping later on.
